Okay, here is my blog about desserts that start with B.
Yesterday, I got a weird idea. I was thinking about making a list of desserts that all start with the same letter. And for some reason, I picked the letter “B”. So I grabbed my laptop and started searching.

Turns out, there are tons of desserts that begin with “B”! I mean, we’ve got your classics like brownies and banana bread, but also some fancy stuff like Baked Alaska and Black Forest Cake. My mouth was watering just reading about them all.
I decided I had to try making some of these. First up, I went with banana bread because, well, who doesn’t love banana bread? I found a simple recipe online and got to work. I mashed up some ripe bananas, mixed them with flour, sugar, eggs, and a few other things, and popped it in the oven.
My Banana Bread Attempt
- Mixing: The batter came together pretty easily. I just dumped everything in a bowl and mixed it up.
- Baking: I baked it for about an hour, and the whole house smelled amazing.
- Result: It turned out pretty good! Maybe a little dry, but nothing a bit of butter couldn’t fix.
Next, I wanted to try something a bit more challenging. I settled on making a Black Forest Cake. This one was way more complicated. There were layers of chocolate cake, whipped cream, cherries, and some kind of cherry liquor.
Black Forest Cake Adventure
- Cake Layers: I baked two chocolate cakes and let them cool.
- Whipped Cream: I whipped up some heavy cream with sugar and vanilla. This was tiring!
- Assembly: I soaked the cake layers with the cherry liquor, then spread on the whipped cream and cherries. It was messy, but fun.
- Result: It looked like a disaster, honestly. But it tasted pretty awesome!
I was on a roll now! I looked up “puddings that start with B” and found bread pudding, banana pudding, and even something called “bird’s nest pudding”. I didn’t make the bird’s nest one (it sounded weird), but I did whip up a quick bread pudding. It was basically just stale bread soaked in a custard and baked. Super easy and a great way to use up old bread.
By the end of the day, my kitchen was a mess, and I was stuffed. But I had so much fun experimenting with all these “B” desserts. I even discovered some new favorites. I’m thinking of doing a “C” dessert challenge next. What do you think I should make?

This whole thing started as a silly idea, but it turned into a fun baking adventure. And that’s what I love about cooking – you never know where a simple idea might take you!
