Drinks with Triple Sec? Oh, I know a thing or two about that. My old man, he used to make somethin’ with that Triple Sec stuff. Said it was fancy, but to me, it just tasted like oranges and… well, somethin’ else. I ain’t one for fancy names, so I just called it “that orange drink”.
Now, I heard some folks call it a “Cosmo-something”. Sounds like a dog’s name if you ask me. My neighbor’s dog, Buster, he’d probably like that orange drink too. Sweet and strong, just how Buster likes his… well, everything.
- You mix that Triple Sec with some vodka, yeah? Vodka’s the one that makes you feel all fuzzy. My sister, she tried it once and ended up singin’ like a bird on the porch. Never heard her sing before, not even in church.
- Then you put some lime juice in it, the sour stuff. Don’t ask me why, just makes it taste less like cough syrup, I guess.
- And somethin’ else, somethin’ red. Cranberry juice, I think they called it. Makes it look pretty, like them flowers growin’ by the creek.
Now, that “Long Beach Iced Tea” thing, that’s a whole different story. Don’t taste like tea to me. More like a whole bunch of different drinks mixed together. Reminds me of that time the kids threw all the leftover sodas into a bucket at the picnic. Tasted weird, but everyone drank it anyway. This Long Beach thing, it’s got Triple Sec, vodka, rum, gin… basically everything but the kitchen sink. Strong stuff, I tell ya. Makes your head spin faster than a windmill in a tornado.
Then there’s this “Sidecar” drink. Fancy name again. Brandy and Triple Sec. My grandpa used to sip brandy after dinner, said it helped him sleep. Never seen him put Triple Sec in it though. Probably woulda thought it was too sweet for him. He liked things plain, like his coffee black and his toast burnt.
You know, all these drinks, they’re all just different ways of mixin’ stuff up. Like cookin’, really. You got your ingredients, you mix ’em up, and you get somethin’ new. Some folks like it sweet, some like it strong, some like it pretty. Me, I just like somethin’ that tastes good and don’t make me feel like I swallowed a frog.
Triple Sec, it’s just orange peel and sugar, ain’t it? Simple stuff. But when you mix it with other things, it changes. Like people, I guess. You put ’em in different situations, they act different. You mix ’em up, you get somethin’ new. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad, but it’s always somethin’ new.
So, drinks with Triple Sec? Just try different things, see what you like. Don’t worry about fancy names or fancy recipes. Just mix it up and see what happens. Might be surprised what you come up with. Just like life, I guess.
