Kosher.com Recipes: Your Guide to Delicious and Simple Jewish Cooking!
Okay, so today I was poking around for some new recipes, you know, just to change things up a bit in the kitchen. I stumbled upon this site, and let me tell you, it’s a goldmine.
First off, I clicked through the homepage. It’s got everything laid out real nice – pasta dishes, fried stuff, even some slow cooker meals that looked pretty tempting. It seemed like they had a little bit of everything, which is perfect when you’re like me and get bored eating the same old things. I even saw some sheet pan recipes, which are a lifesaver on busy weeknights. Just toss everything on a pan, pop it in the oven, and you’re good to go.
I decided to dig a little deeper and checked out their section on kosher standards. Now, I’m not a strict kosher-keeper, but I do try to be mindful. The site explains the basics pretty well. Everything needs to be super clean, which, honestly, is just good practice anyway, right? They also mentioned washing meat, fish, and eggs really thoroughly to make sure there’s no blood.
- Meat, fish, and eggs should be clean.
- No blood.
- Fruits and vegetables should be clean too.
Then I moved on to the dinner recipes. Roast chicken, meatballs, mashed potatoes – the classics! They even had vegetable lasagne, which is one of my favorites. They do warn you about avoiding cauliflower, asparagus, and broccoli since they’re apparently tricky to wash according to kosher rules. But there were plenty of other veggie options, like moussaka and potato kugels, which sound interesting. I might give those a try sometime.
Overall, I spent a good chunk of time just browsing and saving recipes. They’ve got cooking tips, articles, and even videos, which I didn’t even get to yet. It’s definitely a site I’ll be revisiting. It looks like they worked hard this year to make sure there are delicious recipes for everyone.
I ended up finding a simple salmon recipe that I’m going to try out tomorrow. It looked easy enough, and I already have most of the ingredients. Fingers crossed it turns out as good as it looks on the site!
What I found on the site
- Pasta and fried wraps
- Sloppy joes, stir fry, and eggs
- Salmon and schnitzel
- Slow cooker classics
- Sheet pan creations
- Instant pot and Betty Crocker picks
All in all, I’d say the site is a great resource for anyone looking to spice up their meals, whether you keep kosher or not. Just watch out for those tricky vegetables! I’ll definitely be exploring more of what they have to offer. Maybe next time I’ll try something totally new.
