Okay, so today I wanted to share my little adventure with grabbing cookies from the “smzdm” website. You know, “smzdm”, that Chinese website for great deals. It’s a bit of a story, so grab a snack and let’s go.
First off, I tried using the Alook app. I heard it’s a good way to get cookies that last for a whopping 60 days. Sounds pretty good, right? But here’s the thing, if the website’s cookies don’t work, then you gotta go for the mobile version. I don’t have an Android phone that’s rooted, so I couldn’t really dig into the app’s data.
So, I figured I’d try the website’s cookies. I used this browser extension called “EditThisCookie”, man, it is the only cookie editor you will ever need! It lets you see and edit all the cookies a website uses. Pretty handy, I thought it would save my life. I copied the cookies from the website and pasted them into the extension. Seemed like it should work.
- Opened Alook and went to the “smzdm” website.
- Logged into my account.
- Opened “EditThisCookie” and exported the cookies.
- Imported the cookies into the script I was using.
But guess what? Even though the script said “cookie acquired successfully,” the cookie was totally useless! It was like getting a key that doesn’t fit any lock. I even tried closing the “EditThisCookie” extension, went to their user page, logged in there, and it let me in just fine. So I knew the login was good.
What I Learned
Well, turns out, sometimes the simplest approach doesn’t always cut it. You gotta be ready to try different things. In the end, I managed to get it working, but not without a bit of trial and error. It’s like they say, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. And sometimes, you gotta think outside the box. I mean, who would’ve thought that grabbing a simple cookie could turn into such a mini-project?
