They got this new thing for the holidays. They say it’s special cause it ain’t got regular milk. It’s made with almond milk. Almonds! Can you believe it?
I tried it the other day, thought it might be good. It said “sugar cookie” and I like sugar cookie. But, Lordy, was I wrong. It was like… well, like someone poured a whole bag of sugar in my coffee and then some water down almond juice. Not good, not good at all.
They say it’s lower in sugar than their other drinks. Lower? Maybe, but still got a whole heap of sugar in there. They told me it’s like six spoons of sugar. Six! That’s a lot for one drink, you know. And that almond milk? Doesn’t taste nothing like almonds to me. Tasted artificial, you know what I mean? Like chemicals or something.
If you want to make this sugar cookie almond milk latte, you put almond milk and sugar together. It’s real quick, they say. Mix it all up, that’s all. They call it sugar cookie syrup. Syrup! Sounds sticky, don’t it? They put that in the coffee with the almond milk. And ice. Lots of ice. They call it “iced”. Why you need to say “iced” when it already has ice is beyond me.
- First, they put in that sugar cookie syrup.
- Then, they pour in the coffee. They call it “Espresso.” Fancy word for coffee, I guess.
- Next, they add that almond milk.
- Finally, they throw in a bunch of ice.
I saw the girl making it. She just stirred it all up. Didn’t look too hard, I’ll give ’em that. But the taste? Oh, honey, the taste was something else. Too sweet, that’s for sure. And not in a good way. It was like drinking pure sugar water with a funny aftertaste. Left a bad feeling in my mouth, it did.
This sugar cookie almond milk latte, it’s supposed to taste like a sugar cookie. But it don’t. Not to me, anyway. It’s just sweet and… weird. The almond milk and the sugar cookie, they don’t go together. Like oil and water, they just don’t mix.
I heard some folks saying they like it. Maybe my taste buds are just old. But I wouldn’t recommend it. No, ma’am. Stick to regular coffee, I say. Or maybe just a plain sugar cookie. That’s always good. This Starbucks sugar cookie almond milk latte, it’s a big disappointment.
That almond milk, it’s supposed to be good for you, I guess. No real milk in it. They say it’s good for folks who can’t have regular milk. But honestly, it just tastes watery to me. Not creamy like real milk. And in this drink, it just made the whole thing taste even worse.
The coffee part, they call it Starbucks Blonde Espresso Roast. What a name, huh? Blonde! Like it’s got hair or something. They put that in with the almond milk and the sugar syrup. Supposed to be the special coffee they use. But I couldn’t even taste the coffee much. All I tasted was sugar, and not the good kind.
If you see this sugar cookie almond milk latte, just keep walking. Don’t waste your money. You’re better off getting a regular coffee and a real sugar cookie on the side. That way, at least you know what you’re getting. It is the first non-dairy drink from Starbucks for holiday. But they need to try again. This one ain’t it.
